8 Takeaways From Harvard’s Task Force Reports

Harvard, 10; Williams, 4.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Yesterday the nine retrieved the defeat it received at Williamstown a few weeks ago. However, the game was not what it ought to have been and the nine as a whole showed great listlessness. This was particularly noticeable in the outfield. Paine and McCarthy were slow in starting after the ball and Corbett made the only error in the game for Harvard. The infield put more life into their play, Whittemore and Winslow putting up the best game. In the sixth inning Wiggin went into the box and the nine immediately settled down to more steady work. Wiggin was well supported by O'Malley, who is quicker both on his feet and in throwing to bases than Scannell.

The batting of the whole nine was rather weak and the base running on one or two occasions showed lack of judgment.

The playing of Williams was loose at times, but their batting was good as they made eight hits with a total of twelve.

Their weakest spot in the field was at shortstop, Ide makeing two inexcusable errors. Clark was rather wild, but he held Harvard down to six hits with a total of eight. Towne at right field played a good game and made a splendid catch in the third inning. The score:

HARVARD.
