There were two close games played yesterday afternoon, one at Providence, the other at New Haven, in both of which the home team won. At Providence, Brown beat the University of Pennsylvania in an eleven inning game by a score of 9 to 7. At New Haven, the Yale team beat the Georgetown nine in a ten inning game by a score of 4 to 3. Carter pitched for Yale in the first part of the game.
