The Two Mile Race.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The annual two mile class crew race comes off this afternoon at half past four o'clock. The course is the regular one, beginning at the Cottage Farm Bridge, with the finish at the Union Boat Club. There will be no grand stand at the finish as has been the case heretofore. The order of the crews from the wall is '95, '96, '94, '97.

Some changes have been made since the last one mile race in the make-up of all the crews except the winning sophomore crew. Their order is: Bow, Fairchild; 2, C. Brewer; 3, Lewis; 4, A. Brewer; 5, Stevenson; 6, Shepard; 7, Forbes; stroke, Kales.

The senior crew has its second new man since the first race, in Newell, who is rowing No. 7. Atwood, No. 7, was moved up to No. 3 and Carter to No. 2. The order will be: Bow, Heckscher; 2, Carter; 3, Atwood; 4, Williams; 5, Saltonstall; 6, Wilson; 7, Newell; stroke, Hoag.

The junior crew is badly handicapped by the loss of Peabody, stroke, and Potter, No. 6. The latter has bronchitis, while the former has had to give up rowing on account of a strain received in practice Wednesday. It was uncertain last night just what the make-up of the boat will be. Capen will probably row in the place of Potter, while stroke is undecided.

The freshman crew has braced up considerably in the last week, and should make a good showing this afternoon. White who was put in at No. 5 last week, has been taken out of the boat, and Duffield moved from No. 3 to No. 5. Kernan has been put in at No. 3. The order is: Bow, Cornwell; 2, Sleeper; 3, Kernan; 4, Hollister; 5, Duffield; 6, Sprague; 7, Phelps, stroke. Irving.

Dr. W. A. Brooks '87 will be referee.
