Professor J. H. Thayer gave a very interesting talk, at the meeting of the Christian Association last evening, taking as his general subject, "How a Christian in college should live." He began by referring to the great change which has taken place during recent years in regard to the attitude of college men to religion. Not only in college but every where the temper of the times in regard to religious matters has changed.
This change has also affected the outward requirements of religion. People have come to believe that there is not a quality in any of us which is not capable of consecration and lofty use. Christian influences are growing every where and we should do our part to help this growth. To do this we must be religious ourselves. We should enter into the life of other students for the self culture it gives us and the stimulus for own work. We should take special care not to limit our work to any one class of men, remembering at the same time, however, that common sense is necessary.
In all Christian work in college, we should forget differences in belief, keeping. only in mind the Christianity set forth by Christ.
