New Shells for the Crew.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Three new shells have been ordered for the use of the 'varsity crew. Davy is to build a cedar boat. It will be constructed on a lighter and slightly narrower model than his former boats and will probably weigh, when completed, in the neighborhood of 200 pounds. Waters is at work on a paper shell which will be very much the same sort of a boat as that used by the '92 'varsity crew. The third shell is being built in Enland by Ruff, the builder who supplies the Oxford crews. This boat will be brought over here as soon as it is completed and will be rigged by Davy.

It is hoped that with three such capable builders in competition some unusually good boats will be produced. One of them will probably be given over to the use of the freshman crew.
