At the meeting of the Harvard Union last evening, six new members were elected. It was announced that the debating society of Boston University had declined to accept the challenge of the Union to a joint debate. The following question was then chosen for the next regular meeting on April 17: "Resolved, That an increase of subsidies is the best method of improving American shipping interests.
The regular debate was postponed until April 10, as many of those present desired to attend Mr. Salter's lecture.
