Dr. William L. Richardson has been appointed Dean of the Harvard Medical School to succeed Dr. Bowditch. Dr. Bowditch has held the office for ten years and now wishes to give it up in order to have more time for his work in physiology. Dr. Richardson graduated from Harvard in 1864 and from the Medical School in 1867. In 1882 he was appointed assistant professor, and in 1886 professor of obstetrics.
