University Organizations.

The Committee on City Missions is desirous to carry on the mission among the sailors in the Boston and Charlestown harbors. It is expected to enlist in this work a body of men, ten of whom will go out every Sunday morning to hold short meetings among the sailors. These ten men will meet also on Saturday night in Holden Chapel to make general preparations. Every man will be required to give from two to three hours on two successive Sundays, while no man will be called for three times in succession.

Every student of the University, whether a member of the Christian Association or not, is earnestly urged to enlist in this or any other work of the association. Names may be sent to E. von Mark, chairman, at 18 Bowdoin St., Cambridge. He will also be glad to answer any questions.

Civil Service Reform Club.The executive committee of the Harvard Civil Service Reform Club met last evening in 21 College House, the room of the club's secretary, J. Hall Jones. It was announced that Hon. Theodore Roosevelt of the United States Civil Service Commission will address the club on November 9, in Sanders Theatre. The club will make this an opening public meeting. The first balcony only will be reserved for the members of the club and of the Faculty. Two or three other free public meetings will be held during the year. A letter was read from the national association asking for delegates to the civil service convention in Chicago, December 12 and 13.

Shooting Club.At the annual meeting of the Shooting Club, held last night, the following officers were elected for the ensuing year: President, S. A. Lawton '95, reelected; vice-president, C. A. Peirce '96; secretary, treasurer and executive officer, J. Sargent '95, re-elected. The directors are, from '95, S. F. Eddy; '96, S. Heckscher; '97, W. Byrd.

The first shoot will take place Thursday. There will be two more shoots next week.
