Ropes Prize Essay.

Several men have written to the CRIMSON office to find out if the prize offered by Mr. John C. Ropes for an historical essay upon "The Causes of the Russian War of 1812," was open for competition to all members of the University. No more information could be obtained at the office than was given in the former notice. The original notice, however, stated that the essays might be "prepared by any candidate for a degree in Harvard University or in the U. of P."
