Additions to the Libraries.

The January number of the University Bulletin, covering the last three months, gives the recent additions to the various libraries of the University. In all 1202 volumes have been added. Of these, 1025 are placed in Gore Hall, and are divided in different groups, as follows: General department, 70; Theology and Philosophy, 97; Science, 76; Useful Arts, 9; Fine Arts, 34; Antiquities, 40; History and Geography, 225; Law and Sociology, 167; Philology. 114; Literature, 174; and Dante Society's collection, 19.

The remaining 177 volumes have been distributed among the various departmental libraries. In the Divinity School library 85 books have been received, distributed in the following way: General department, 1; Theology and Philosophy, 78; Antiquities, 1; History and Geography 2; Law and Sociology, 1; and Philology, 2.

Eight volumes have been added to the library of the Semitic Department, 3 each in the departments of Theology and Philosophy, and Philology, and 1 each in the departments of Antiquities, and History and Geography.

Fourteen books in science have been added to the Museum of Comparative Zoology; 8 in science and 1 in useful arts to the Lawrence Scientific School; 38 in science to the Batanic Gardens; 4 in science to the Astronomical Observatory; 1 in science to the Mathematical Class Room; 2 in science to the Philosophical Class Room; 2 in science to the Zoological Laboratory; 1 in history and geography to the Historical Department; 1 in law and sociology to the Political Economy class room and 2 to the Department of Sanskrit; 8 in philology to the Classical department; and 1 in literature to the French Department.
