The sale of tickets for the annual concert of the Glee, Banjo, and Mandolin Clubs and the Pierian Sodality is better than it has been for some years past and nearly all of the best seats have been taken. As this concert is the last one to be given in Cambridge in which members of the senior class will take part, Ninety-five men, who intend to buy tickets, should do so at once. As has been previously announced, the concert will be given in Sanders Theatre, Tuesday, December 18. The tickets, price one dollar for the floor and front balcony, and seventy-five cents for the gallery, are on sale at Thurston's.
The programme promises to be one of the best that has been given in Sanders Theatre. The Glee Club is unusually fortunate in the quality of the individual voices, and a greater effort than ever has been made to acquire expression and and precision. The soloists will be J. A. Wilder L. S., F. W. Thomas L. S., and D. C. Greene '95. Mr. Warren A. Locke, the University choirmaster, has given invaluable help in training the Glee Club. The Pierian Sodality, under the leadership of C. L. Safford Gr., is doing unusually good work, especially in the strings.
The programme will contain several compositions by Harvard men. The Glee Club will sing songs by R. W. Atkinson '91, L. S. Thompson '92, B. Carpenter '88, and J. A. Carpenter '97. The Pierian will probably play two pieces by Harvard men, one by F. C. Slee L. S., and the other by J. A. Carpenter '97.
