Professor J. Estlin Carpenter, of Oxford, England, will deliver a course of twelve lectures on The History of Ideas of a Future Life, in Divinity Chapel, on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 7.30. The course will be divided into two parts.

PART I.

Oct. 9. 1. Origins of the Belief.

Oct. 11. 2. The Dead in Relation to the Living: The Cultus of the Dead (1).

Oct. 16. 3. The Cultus of the Dead (2).

Oct. 18. 4. Continuance and Retribution.

Oct. 23. 5. India: (1) The Moral Order: Transmigration.

Oct. 25. 6. India: (2) Brahmanism and Buddhism.

PART II.The second part of the course, embracing six more lectures, will begin on Tuesday, November 27.
