On Tuesday the trustees of Union College formally accepted the resignation of President Webster. The resignation was presented a year ago by Dr. Webster on account of ill health. He was given six months leave of absence and returned slightly improved in health, but it was evident that he could not longer continue as president. Rev. Dr. Andrew V. V. Raymond, pastor of the Fourth Presbyterian Church of Albany, was unanimously elected to succeed Dr. Webster. Dr. Raymond is a graduate of Union College, and a preacher of rare power.
