Only thirteen men made their appearance at the Chess and Whist Club rooms last evening, to begin the whist tournament, but out of these fortunately three tables were formed. Play was begun at once, and in about an hour and a half the matches were finished all within a few minutes of one another. In section B, Rogers and De Normandie beat Everett and Burlingham, three games to two. In section A, Brown and Davis beat R. C. Harrison and P. J. Harrison three to two, and Hale and Stetson beat Baker and Denny three to one. Brown and Davis then played Hale and Stetson and won by a score of three to one.
