About twenty-five candidates for the 'varsity nine took their first out-of-door practice of the season on Holmes Field yesterday afternoon. The ground was rough and covered with ice so there was little opportunity for fielding. Two nets were set up and the men were given practice in batting. On Monday it is expected that regular outside work can be begun on Jarvis.
