Under the auspices of the Columbian National Intercollegiate Baseball Association a tournament is to be held in Chicago during July. Stagg is secretary of the association and has sent out circulars asking for co-operation.
It has been proposed to invite five eastern colleges - Yale, Harvard, Cornell, Princeton and University of Pennsylvania. Of these, however, only Yale, Harvard and Princeton have been invited. Yale has declined the invitation and in case the two latter should do the same, is has been proposed to invite Brown and Wesleyan, as they have strong teams.
The western colleges, to be represented are Ann Arbor, Northwestern, Chicago University. University of Minnesota and University of Wisconsin.
