In anticipation of the eventual removal of all athletics to Soldiers Field, the funds necessary for the erection of an athletic house have been subscribed and already work on the building has commenced. The building will be erected on the site formerly occupied by the Willard house at the entrance to Soldiers Field. It will be built in the form of a hollow square and will essentially be a locker house, since it will contain over two thousand lockers. The house will be two stories high and, in addition to the lockers, will contain rooms for the accommodation of both the 'varsity and the visiting teams. There will be no bath-tubs, but numerous shower-baths. The building will be furnished with hot and cold water; it will be heated by steam and is expected to be unusually light and airy. Back of the main building will be a separate house which will contain dry rooms and heating apparatus.
Peabody and Stearns are the contractors and the building is expected to be ready for occupancy next spring.
