The Yale University Catalogue for this year has been published. It appears from it that the curriculum of the university remains almost unchanged. There have, however, been changes made in the corporation and in the faculty. There are several new beneficiary aids, keeping pace with the increased number of students. A change has also been made in the time of the spring recess. Next year it will begin on March 21 and last till March 29. The fall term will begin September 27.

The two changes on the corporation are as follows: the places formerly occupied by ex-Governor Morgan G. Bulkeley, of Hartford, and Hon. Samuel E. Merwin, of New Haven, are now filled by the election of Governor Luzon B. Morris, of New Haven, and Hon. Ernest Cady, of Hartford.

Thirty-five new names appear in the list of the faculty and instructors.

To the list of beneficiary aids, scholarships and fellowships, is added the Scott Hurtt Fellowship of twelve thousand dollars, established last June by Mrs. Sarah L. Hurtt, of New York, in memory of her son. The incumbent must be a graduate of the academic department, of not more than three years standing at the time of his first appointment, and may hold the fellowship for three years by annual re-election. The Thacher Memorial Fund of three thousand dollars is mentioned for the first time. This was founded in 1892, by gifts from the class of 1842, and named in honor of their former instructor, Professor Thomas A. Thacher, and is to be devoted to the encouragement of the practice of extemporaneous debate. One hundred and fifty dollars of the income will be offered in prizes during the coming year.

There is a total of 2,202 students in the university as against 1,969 enrolled last year. They are distributed as follows, the sum for this year being given first with last year's number following: Graduate courses, 143, 125: Yale College, 1,086, 966; Sheffield Scientific School, 601, 529; Art School, 30, 31; Musical department, 9, 7; total, 1,869, 1,658; Divinity School, 119, 109; Medical School, 80, 76; Law School, 188, 171; deduct for names inserted twice, 54, 45. There is therefore a total increase of 233 over the attendance of last year. There has been a gain in every department except the Art School, where there is a loss of one.
