Work has begun on a new board running track which will be located behind the gymnasium, between the Law School and the Jefferson Physical Laboratory. The track will be six feet in width, and there will be six laps to the mile. The building of the track, although in the hands of the athletic committee, will be under the supervision of Mr. Lathrop.
In location and length the track will be great improvement over that of former years. The location of the old track made it dangerous both for the runners and for the passers-by.
The long lap does away with the short turns of the old track and will make it practicable to transfer to the new track much of the running which at present is done on North avenue.
