Dr. Harmon W. Hayley, instructor in the Latin Department, who is at the Cambridge Hospital, was reported last night as in improved condition and with fair chances of recovery. Dr. Hayley was graduated from Amherst in '87 and entered the Harvard Graduate School, where he received the degree of A. M., and later that of Ph. D.
In the fall of '91 he was appointed an instructor in classical philology and this year was admitted to the faculty. Dr. Hayley is a remarkable scholar and gives promise of a remarkably brilliant future. The University unites in hopes for his recovery.
