The 'varsity football practice yesterday afternoon lasted for one short half only. There was no repetition of the energetic play of Thursday afternoon and several misunderstandings as to the signals occurred among the first eleven backs, which resulted in bad fumbles.
Hayes did good work for the first eleven, making a clean dash through tackle and guard for a touchdown, and again by a run of 20 yards around the end. Jackson made some good rushes, but fumbled badly near the second eleven's goal line. In the course of the play Brown '98 was laid off with a lame ankle.
The game with Andover this afternoon will be called at 3.30 p.m. The following men will compose the Harvard team: l.e, Richardson; l.t., Hallowell; l.g., Manahan; c., F. Shaw; r.g., J. N. Shaw; r.t., Gould; r.e., A. Brewer; q.b., Wrenn, Beale, Foster; h.b., Gray, Dunlop, Hamlen, Hayes, Wrightington, Phelan; f.b., C. Brewer, Jackson.
