Bishop Lawrence.

Bishop William Lawrence, whose consecration occurred yesterday at Trinity Church, graduated from Harvard with the class of '71. Among other members of the class were Dr. W. S. Bigelow, C. J. Bonaparte, ex-Congressman Burnet and Hon. Henry Cabot Lodge. In college Bishop Lawrence was very popular and was a member of the best societies, including the Institute of 1770 and the Hasty Pudding Club.

After graduation he entered the Cambridge Episcopal Theological School and took his degree in 1875. After eight years service in Grace Church, Lawrence, he was appointed professor in Loniclities at the Theological School and four years later was made vice-dean and then dean of the School. Since 1889 he has served on Harvard's Board of Preachers.

To succeed Bishop Lawrence as dean the trustees of the Theological School have chosen the Rev. Geo. Hodges, rector of Calvary Church, Pittsburg.

Dr. Hodges states that he is not prepared to say what his decision will be. He will probably take several weeks to decide.
