NYT Journalist Maggie Haberman Weighs In on Trump’s White House, Democratic Strategy at Harvard Talk
There was a large attendance at the rooms of the St. Paul's Society last night, to hear Father Field speak of the "Mission Work in Boston."
Father Field spoke of the bad portions of large cities and said that in Boston there was a section so bad that no European city had anything to compare with it. This, he said, was on Cambridge street, where there is a line of saloons and two closed churches.
One of these churches Father Field wishes to make into a library and the other into a trades school. This trades school is to be opened formally by the bishop next week. It is intended primarily for negroes, though of course, no distinction will be made. The special aid which Father Field asked for last night was in organising a boys' club of those in the school, and in starting a Sunday School.
When Father Field finished his talk a call was made for volunteers, and a good number responded.
