Cambridge Latin School won the inter-scholastic base ball championship yesterday afternoon by defeating the English High School team with a score of 12 to 3. Both teams were supported by an enthusiastic crowd, and the game was very interesting for the first few innings. The last part of the game was played very slowly and was rather tiresome. Cambridge took the lead at the start and held it easily throughout the game. English High went badly to pieces in the third, fifth, and ninth innings, while Cambridge played very steadily except in the seventh inning when several hits, a passed ball, and Whittemore's error let in three runs. Moore's pitching was remarkably good. Following is the score by innings:
Innings, 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
C. L. S., 0 1 1 1 3 2 1 1 2 - 12
E. H. S., 0 0 0 0 0 0 3 0 0 - 3
