According to the annual class book of the Yale academic seniors. there are 179 men in the class. Connecticut has the largest representation, 43; New York comes next with 42, and Massachusetts with 16. Phillips-Andover sent more than any other preparatory school. 123 members of the class are church members. The average age on commencement day will be 22 years. 7 months. The average expense for each year has been $766. Fifty have had to earn their way.

There are 95 Republicans, 22 Democrats, 20 Independents, and 1 Prohibitionist. The protection sentiment is increasing, there being this year 83 protectionists and 43 free traders. As to the future, 51 will study law, 28 will go into business, 18 will enter the ministry, 18 will study medicine, 9 will teach, 10 will continue their study, and 42 are undecided what to do.
