The eleven is now practicing every day, except match days, on the Longwood C. C. grounds. Some of the men bat in the morning and the whole eleven plays together in the afternoon. Mr. Walter Leigh, an amateur, but one of Canada's strongest bats, as well as one of her best bowlers has for several days been watching the eleven and the effect of his advice can already be clearly seen.
The team has been unusually fortunate both in getting Mr. Leigh's advice, and in being permitted, through the kindness of the Longwood C. C., to use the Longwood grounds. The men seem to appreciate this and are all working hard and faithfully.
Yale has forfeited to Harvard so the two matches in Philadelphia are the only remaining championship games. These are May 27, University of Pennsylvania at Manheim, and May 28, Haverford at Haverford.
