Harvard-Columbia Freshman Race.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Harvard has sent the following challenge to the Columbia College Athletic Union:

The Harvard University Boat Club, in behalf of the Harvard freshman crew, having received a challenge from Yale for a freshman race, hereby challenge the Columbia University Boat Club, for the Columbia freshman crew, to a two mile straightaway race in eight-oared shells with coxswains, said race to be rowed at New London, on a day to be fixed hereafter.

It is to be understood that if Yale wishes to enter this race and make it a three-cornered one, they shall be allowed to do so.

G. HOWARD KELTON,Capt. H.U.B.C.The challenge will undoubtedly be accepted by the Columbia men. Capt. Kelton said yesterday, that Yale would probably wish to enter into the race, and in that case, Columbia and Harvard would probably allow them to enter, and there will then be a triangular race.
