Harvard '95 vs. C. A. A.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The freshman nine defeated the Cambridge Athletic Association team by a score of 3 to 2 yesterday. The playing was steady and at times very good on both sides though several bad errors were made. Reed pitched throughout the game for the freshmen and played much better than in his last game. He gave only two men bases on balls and struck out nine. McAdams caught seven innings, and Walker the other two. Both stopped the balls well but threw poorly. Rogers played first base for four innings, when he turned his ankle and was relieved by Lighthall. Dreyfus played a good game at second. Whittemore of the 'varsity played for the first time with the freshmen. He played a strong game on third. The rest of the nine was made up with Cassatt s.s., Stevenson l. f., Wadsworth c.f., Walker r. f. The batting of the team was poor, as they scored only six hits off a very medium pitcher.

Following is the score by innings:

Innings, 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9

Harvard, 2 0 0 0 0 0 0 1 -3

C. A. A., 2 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0-2
