Freshman Nine.

The freshman nine has been practising regularly, twice a day, through vacation. Several games have been played, and the nine has been sifted down, and mostly made up for its final form. The make up has been McAdams, c.; Lighthall, 1b.; Phelan, 2b.; Worman, 3b.; Cassatt, s.s.; Wadsworth, 1.f.; Bigelow, c.f.; Rogers, r f. and 1b.; Dreyfus, r.f.; G. Smith, Reed, Gilmore and Webb, taking turns to pitch. Individually, the men are playing well, but as a team, they are still inclined to go to pieces. The batting is good, Rogers, Worman and Wadsworth, doing the best work. The pitchers are very evenly matched, but Smith and Gilmore, are probably the best. About ten men have been measured for uniforms, and two or three more from the second nine will probably be measured later.

The nine has played two games with Cambridge Latin, beating, 8 to 6, and losing, 16 to 8, and one with Roxbury Latin, beating, 33 to 6.
