The ninety-six crew is now cut down to twelve men. All of these will be retained for some time, then two of them will be dropped. Fennessy is coaching the men at present and an effort is being made to secure a permanent coach. The work of the crew lacks snap; the leg drive is weak, the shoot is slow, and the arms break before the legs are down. The order is: Stroke, Kales; 7, Forbes; 6, Shepard; 5, Derby; 4, Greenough; 3, Dorman; 2, Frothingham; bow, Fairchild. The extra men are Rice, Fox, Barrett and Lincoln.
