The entries for the first Winter Meeting closed last night at ten o'clock and up to that time only twelve entries had been made. It is possible that through some misunderstanding a few who intended to take part, gave their names to some one beside the official receiver, so there may be an increase in the number before tomorrow.
The president of the H. A. A. has decided to have the sparring contests in the second Winter Meeting at the end in the order of events. While preparations are being made for this there will be ample opportunity for ladies to leave if they are unwilling to remain. By this arrangement no one need feel obliged to stay away on account of personal objection to boxing.
The entries for tomorrow's meeting are given below and it will be seen that the heavy weight sparring, middle weight wrestling, and feather weight wrestling events are omitted from want of entries:
Middle weight sparring. - J. H. Hunt '92, A. H. Linder '95, J. L. Thompson, '95.
