It has for sometime been the custom in assigning the provisional list of commencement parts to signify to which of the three grades of parts - oration, dissertation, or disquisition - the student is entitled. Last year the experiment was tried of arranging the names of all the men entitled to parts in alphabetical order, making no distinction between the three grades. This year the old custom was taken up again, but as it is found that very many corrections in the provisional list have to be made before the end of the year, the assignment by grade will hereafter be discontinued in the provisional list, and instead the names of all the men entitled to parts will be arranged alphabetically.
