The Faculty of Yale has passed a vote granting a holiday to the University on Washington's Birthday on condition that the two lower classes pledge themselves to orderly conduct during the holiday. Accordingly the sophomore class met and adopted the following resolution:

WHEREAS, The sentiments of the sophomore class are opposed to any disturbances on Washington's Birthday, be it

Resolved, That we, the members of the Sophomore class, refrain from any disturbances on that day.

The next evening the freshman class held a similar meeting, and after numerous interruptions from the sophomores also voted to refrain from disturbances on Washington's Birthday.
