At a meeting of the trustees of Dartmouth College on Monday, President Bartlett presented his resignation, to take effect at the next commencement. He wishes to engage in certain special literary work which he has long meditated, and with which the cares and duties of the presidency are incompatible. At the time of his contemplated retirement he will have completed fifteen years in office.
