The choirs of Appleton Chapel. St. Pauls Church, Boston and Grace Church, Newton, will give a concert in Tremont Temple tomorrow evening in aid of the Free Hospital for women. Beside giving the pleasure of hearing fine church music, the concert will have a distinct educational value. The growth of English church music since the time of Christopher Tye will be illustrated by a programme of ten pieces arranged in chronological order. The solo parts will be sung by Masters Macdonald, Hill and Wilcox, trebles, Mr. C. N. Sladen counter tenor, Mr. George J. Parker, tenor and Mr. Heinrich Meyn, bass. The concert is under the direction of Mr. Warren A. Hocke; Mr. H. B. Day, organist.

The programme is as follows:

Christopher Tye (1508-1570)

"O come, ye servants of the Lord."

Thomas Tallis (1520-1585)

"If ye love Me."

Richard Farrant (1530-1580)

"Lord, for Thy tender mercies' sake" Orlando Gibbons. (1683-1625)

"Almighty and everlasting God." Henry Purcell. (1658-1695)

'Rejoice in the Lord alway." William Croft. (1677-1727)

"O Lord, Thou hast searched me out." William Boyce. (1710-1779)

"By the Waters of Babylon." Thomas Atwood. (1767-1838)

"Turn Thy face from my sins." John Goss. (1800-1880)

"The wilderness" John Stainer. (1840-)
