In the Christmas number of the Harper's Weekly, Casper Whitney has his customary article on the "All America" foot ball team. The eleven as he makes it up is as follows:

Substitutes - L. Bliss, Osgood, Butterworth and Poe back of the line, and Mackie, Adams, Newton, Winters and Schoff in the line.

The most striking feature of this makeup is the fact that Brewer is given a place on the team as half back, while Laurie Bliss is named only as a substitute The principal reason given for this is Brewer's great superiority in catching, which was so well shown in the Springfield game.
