The new Yale infirmary is now completed. A large portion of the funds for this building was raised by Mrs. Cornelius Vanderbilt and a committee of ladies in New York and New Haven through the presentation of Sophocles' "Antigene" nearly two years ago. There are thirty-two rooms in all, including the various store rooms. Twenty-three of these are bedrooms. The building consists of four floors with the basement. On the first floor is the dining-room, the office, a large parlor and three bedrooms. The second floor consists of twelve bedrooms. The third floor is made up of servants' and nurses' quarters, which can be converted into bedrooms if necessary. The building will be heated by the direct-indirect system and will be lighted by gas. These floors are provided with both rooms and closets.
The infirmary will provide a cheerful place for students needing medical assistance and cheerful nursing, and only the most experienced attendants will be employed.
