This evening representatives from the Harvard and Yale Unions will meet at Springfield to make definite arrangements for this year's joint debates. The Yale Union has been taking energetic steps to secure the best speakers by calling for competitive written speeches and hearing the best fifteen of those delivered. To be equally well represented it is the purpose of the Harvard Union to throw the competition open to as many speakers as possible. The first opportunity for men to train themselves for this will be given at the meeting in Sever this evening, which will be devoted to five minute speeches on a subject announced at the time. It is very important that the number of speakers be large, in order that the best men can be chosen to represent Harvard at the joint debate.
