Chase Wins in the Singles.

The finals in the singles in the tennis tournament were concluded on Saturday. Chase '95 and Read '95 were alone left to fight it out for first place. Read won the first set with ease, then Chase braced and took the next two, but weakened and lost the fourth set. In the fifth he showed better form and succeeded in reversing the score of the previous set. The score, 2-6, 6-2, 6-2, 1-6, 6-1.

The following matches will be played in doubles to-day.

At 12m. - King and Taylor vs. Garland and partner.

At 1-30 - Gosline and Rhodes vs. Coues and Coues. Lyman and Chase vs. Harrison and Endicott.

At 2.30 - Sand and Powe vs. Read and Johnston. Hand and Parker vs. Page and Leonard.

At 3.30. p. m. - Frothingham Bros. vs. winner of Taylor and King - Garland and partner.

At 4 p. m. - Winner of Gosline and Rhodes - Coues and Coues vs. winner of Lyman and Chase - Harrison and Endicott. Paine and Huidekoper vs. Hand and Parke:- Page and Leonard.

In the consolations,

At 3 p. m. - Robinson vs. Frothingham.

At 12 m. Ingraham vs. Leonard.

At 3-30 - Curtis vs. winner of Ingraham and Leonard.
