American History Leaflets.

The first of what is bound to prove a very interesting and instructive series of works called "American History Leaflets" has just made its appearance. It is a convenient little sheet containing a letter from Columbus to Luis de Sant Augel, announcing his discovery, with an extract also from his journal. These leaflets are to appear bi-monthly in the months of January, March, May, July. September and November, the price for single copies being five cents and the yearly subscription thirty cents. They are edited by Professors Hart and Channing. The subjects for the different numbers this year are as follows:

(1). The letter of Columbus to Sant Angel, announcing his Discovery.

(2). The Ostend Manifesto. 1854.

(3). Extracts from the Sagas describing the Voyages of Biarni, Leif Ericson, Thorwald Ericson and Thorfinn Karlsefne.

(4). Extracts from Official Declarations of the United States embodying the Monroe Doctrine. 1789-1891.

(5). The King's Proclamation and other Documents relating to the Treaty of 1763.

(6). Extracts from papers relating to the Bering Sea Controversy 1824-1891, (double number).
