Harvard Progressive Union.

The earnest spirit evinced by the men who met last night to form an association auxiliary to the Prospect Progressive Union argues well for the success of the new organization. R. M. Lovett '92, Chairman of the Educational Committee, took the chair and called on Mr. Berry for the treasurer's report. Mr. Berry estimated that the expenses of the coming year would be $800, of which it is hoped that college men interested the Union will pay half. He also spoke of the three memberships mentioned in the CRIMSON yesterday, the association membership 82, the active $3, and the sustaining $5 and upwards.

Mr. Ely, President of the Union, followed with a few words on the desirability of an auxilliary association. Mr. Lovett explained that the object of the new association was to form a nucleus of college men interested in the kind of work the Progressive Union is now doing. After an informal discussion, the association was formed, its name to be partially dependent on the proposed change of name of the Union.

On motion of Mr. Berry it was decided that an Harvard association membership in the Union should constitute an active membership in the new organization. The drafting of a constitution to be submitted shortly after the Mid-Years was left to a committee appointed by the chairman, consisting of H. McK. Landon, G. S. Curtis and G. J. Peirce.

In conclusion Mr. Peirce urged all that could to attend Professor Peabody's lecture tonight at Cambridgeport on the "Responsibilities of wealth."
