The 'varsity nine of 1891 will play its last game today. The game should be the best as well as the last of the season. We have played five games with the Bostons and each time been beaten, once or twice by a very narrow margin. It will be remembered that once Harvard was well in the lead until the ninth inning, when an unfortunate series of wild pitches lost us the game. The nine will make every effort to win the last game and to break the tantalizing succession of small victories for the Boston team. On the other hand, the credit of the league team is involved in winning the game. The Bostons have struck a strong batting streak lately, and it will be interesting to see what they can do with Harvard's best pitcher. Our battery will be Bates and Upton or Cobb. The batting order will be: Dean, Hallowell, Hovey, Frothingham, Alward, Cook, Cobb or Upton or Cobb, Bates. The Boston pitchers will be Staley and Get zein, and the catcher Lake. The batting order is: Long, s. s. Stovey, r. f.; Quinn, 2b.; Nash, 3b.; Brodic, c. f.; Tucker, 1b.; Lowe, l. f.; Lake, c.; Staley or Getzein, p.
