All that is wanting to make the interscholastic tennis tournament a great success today is fine weather. The entries have been more than could possibly have been expected so early in the year, and a large number of schools are represented. The entries are as follows:
Hopkinson's School-E. H. Clark, R. B. Williams, J. Warren, J. L. Stackpole, Jr., E. H. Wells, H. C. Robinson, H. T. Nichols.
Cambridge Latin-J. B. Reed, P. P. Sharples, E. Stevens, R. Wrenn, R. Whitman.
B. M. C. Durfee High School, Fall River-S. B. Davol, R. Davis, G. E. Brown.
Dalzell School, Worcester-A. H. Bullock, G. W. Knowlton, Jr.
Allen School, West Newton-E. Hopkins, S. R. Hollander.
Newton High-J. C. Walworth, R. C. Thomas.
University Grammar School, Providence-R. S. Howland, S. Henshaw.
Hale's School-A. N. Winslow.
Roxbury Latin-A. W. Blakemore.
Worcester High-T. L. Nelson, Jr.
Chelsea High-O. E. Wyeth.
Boston Latin-G. C. Gibson.
Exeter-W. Lyman.
Malden High-G. M. Chase.
Berkeley School, New York City-G. P. Herrick.
Browne and Nichols School-R. W. Coues, A. G. Russell.
The contest for first place will probably be between the Hopkinson and Cambridge Latin Schools. Hopkinson's best man is H. C. Robinson, who played well in general tournaments last year. R. Wrenn and E. Stevens of the Cambridge Latin are also likely to do well. The dark horse is Herrick of New York, who played at Newport last season.
