The 'varsity nine played a short practice game with the senior team on Jarvis yesterday afternoon, which rerulted in a score of two to nothing in favor of the former. Bater and Upton were the battery and Soule took Dean's place at second; otherwise the team was unchanged. Clarence Smith '85 coached the team. The nine played a clean game in the field, but were not very effective at the bat. The nine's coaching was poor, several men being caught on bases. The team felt the absence of Captain Dean, and several times the men showed poor judgment in making plays.
