The Invitation High Jump.

The officers of the Harvard Athletic Association have used every means in their power to make the high jump at the ladies' meeting next Saturday one of the most interesting jumping contests ever seen in this country.

Nickerson, N. Y. A. C., who has a record close on to six feet, has already accepted the invitation of the H. A. A. Pritchard, M. A. C., is out West and will not be able to attend the meeting, but Morse, B. A. A., who jumped 5 ft. 11 7-8 in. when Fearing broke the indoor record at the B. A. A. games, will contest, as will Haywood of the M. I. T., who holds the Tech. record of 5 ft. 10 3-4 in. Hallock, M. A. C., another man who has done close on to six feet, will probably come on from New York, though his acceptance has not yet been received. From Wiegand, N. Y. A. C. nothing as yet has been heard. Besides these men there will of course be Fearing with his record of 6 ft. 2 1-4 in. and Green who did 5 ft. 11 7-8 in. in the same games in which Fearing's record was made. With such men entered it will not be surprising if some records are broken. At any rate the H. A. A. has provided the best performers at this entertaining sport which the country has, and an exciting contest with the bar pretty high is certain.
