One of the conditions under which ex-President White, of Cornell, gave his extensive library to the University was that a School of History and Political Science should be founded. The Executive Committee of the University has been engaged for several months on the organization of this school, and expect to have the work completed in June. No effort will be spared to strengthen the department in every way possible as it is intended that the courses offered shall be the most complete given in this country. It is announced that two new fellowships of $500 each will be established. At a meeting of the Executive Committee this week Professor Moses Coit Tyler was elected Dean of the new school.
