Challenge from Cornell Freshmen.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Captain Perkins of the University crew has received the following challenge from the Cornell freshman eight:

ITHACA, N. Y., March 11, 1891.

To the Manager of the Harvard Freshman Crew:

"The freshman crew of Cornell University hereby challenges the freshman crew of Harvard University to a two mile race in eight oared shells, to be rowed at New London in June, 1891, the day and other details to be mutually agreed upon the acceptance of this challenge."

No official action has yet been taken by Harvard. Our freshmen, however, have already the race arranged with Columbia '94, into which the Yale freshmen will probably enter. It is impossible for them to row two races: and there is, therefore, hardly a chance that the challenge will be accepted.
