Forty-one men met in the trophy room of the gymnasium last night in response to the call for candidates for the foot ball squad. Captain Trafford explained that the squad this year was designed to be a feeder to the university eleven, rather than to the class elevens, as last year. It will be kept at work for five weeks. At the end of a fortnight it will be divided into two parts, an advanced squad being formed out of the men who have shown most interest and ability in their work. The advanced section will meet in the evenings and be instructed by the players of last year's eleven in the theory of of the game. For the present the whole squad will work together; at dumb-bells and running till the weather is more open, and then on the field. The men will be coached by graduates and last year's players as soon as they get on the field. The men whose names were given in last night are as follows:
