The Boston papers have the announcement yesterday morning that J. A. Hartwell, M. S., has been elected captain of the Yale crew in place of J. A. Gould '92, who resigned a short time ago. Some of the papers announced his election as a fact, others as doubtful, and some said that he was elected but it was doubtful whether he would accept the position. The election of a graduate to the captaincy of the crew has hardly ever been done before at Yale.
