While the ninety-seven eleven has shown a certain amount of improvement during the past week, the lack of spirit and ehtusiasm shown by the candidates is really deplorable. It is with the greatest difficulty that the coaches can get the same men to come out two days in succession. Team work developes slowly under these circumstances, and the men are too light for effective work.

The first eleven is made up as follows: O'Connor, centre; Smith, left guard; Williams, right guard; Watson, left takle; Scannel right tackle; Barton left end; Rantoul, right end; Dean, quarterback; Irving right halfback; Pillsbury, left halfback; Weld, fullback.

The best work is being done by Watson, Scannell, Irving Barton and Dean.

Watson is very earnest, breaks through and tackles well. He played tackle on the Hopkinson eleven last year. Barton came from exeter with a good reputa-
